Hello there,
You’re looking very well. Oh no, wait, that’s just the reflection in my screen, oops! Anyway… in today’s edition we’ve got a treat for you as Killing Joke bassist and uber-producer Youth looks back over his career in music. He has quite the impressive CV. Alongside producing artists as illustrious as U2, The Verve, David Gilmour, Kate Bush, Primal Scream, Guns N’Roses and countless more, he also became a member of his old school friend Alex Paterson’s The Orb in the early 90s and is one half of The Fireman alongside Paul McCartney. Not bad going for a man who once burned two grand in the street whilst tripping balls and wearing only swimming trunks and kimono (more on that later).
This edition for subscribers only, so if you’re not a subscriber you won’t be able to see past the paywall at the end of this paragraph, which is annoying because the interview is really good and we want you to read it. A subscription to The New Cue costs £5 a month and gives us a reason to keep doing what we’re doing, which is delivering a steady supply of red-hot music content and a promise to not use the phrase ‘red-hot music content’ ever again. We’re rooting for you.
We’ll see you on Friday for a lorry-load of new music recommendations. But that’s for subscribers only too! It looks like we’ve made the decision for you. Clicky clicky.
Enjoy the edition,
Ted, Niall and Chris
