Welcome to your midweek edition of The New Cue, your pal, your buddy, the one you told that secret to and they never told anyone and you were like ‘wow, what a friend, they also never gave me that tenner back but I’m gonna let it slide’.
Today we’ve got with a chat with a six-string supremo, guitar-slinger, axe-wielder and all the other cringey phrases that music journalists use when a simple “guitarist” would suffice: it’s Billy Duffy from rock veterans The Cult. It’s after the little paywall below and that paywall is there if you’re not a paid subscriber. Don’t cry, though! You can fix it by pressing Subscribe Now and paying £5 a month to become part of our top-tier crew. We love them so bloody much, whereas we just like you. Go on!
Before we get to that, a reminder that tickets for our next TNC live event are currently on sale. Taking place at The Social, on Little Portland Street in London’s West End, on Friday 20th May, we’ve got a screening of the KLF documentary Who Killed The KLF?. There’ll also be an onstage Q&A with director Chris Atkins. It’s quite the story - Chris was given a lengthy prison sentence for a tax fraud associated with funding the film. We’re also very excited to be giving away FREE KLF PONCHOS (!!!) to the first 50 ticket-holders. Get your tickets here.
But first, The Cult. Enjoy the edition and we’ll see you on Friday for some Reccie action and a chat with Kevin Morby…
