Happy Wednesday!
Welcome to the 200th edition of The New Cue! Wowza, 200 editions, eh? If my rather shaky understanding of cricket is correct, that’s what you call a double century. Whoo hoo! Thanks to everyone who has signed up to join us over the previous 199 editions, we hope you enjoy reading these as much as we enjoy putting them together. If you missed any you can scroll through the back editions here.
Today we have a special Story Behind The Song chat with Clare Grogan, who tells us all about the making of Altered Images’ jangly pop classic I Could Be Happy. Had Clare known she would be part of this momentous moment in the history of newsletters, we’re sure she would have picked the band’s other evergreen hit, Happy Birthday, to mark the occasion. I Could Be Happy is a cracker of a story, though, so if you’d like to read it and aren’t yet a subscriber just click the Subscribe Now button down there to receive the next 200 editions of The New Cue (not all at the same time though, even Niall can’t work that quickly).
Enjoy the edition and we’ll see you on Friday for a Recommender round-up of new musical goodies.
Ted, Niall and Chris
