Recommender Pt. 1

I was so busy hammering the incredible new single by Kae Tempest last week that I forgot to put it in my Recommender, which is an unfortunate oversight considering every week I write about new music I’m enjoying and that was top of the enjoyment charts. What an idiot. My path to redemption starts here, sticking Statue In The Square up top. I still love it and we’ve actually become much closer in the past seven days so I’m glad I waited. A fierce hip hop tune with jumpy beats, a menacing, melodic piano line and a brilliantly barbed delivery from Kae, it’s the first fruits from their forthcoming Fraser T Smith-produced album. It's going to be a cracker by the sounds of it.
